A conversation with Blake on his 1st day of preschool

Of course I had to steal this idea from Pinterest...but what a great idea it is.  I plan on asking these same questions to Blake at the beginning of each new school year. 

These are his answers as he starts preschool:

If I had one wish it would be: a cuddling machine...with cuddly toys inside like a store

My best memory is: seeing nana

I WISH that I could make these pics straight....but I cant...and I am beyond frustrated now....grrr...tilt your head and look at the cuteness on his 1st day of preschool!!

Notes from mama:

-He really doesn't like strawberries...at all!

-We have never been strawberry picking

-He actually does like peaches

-A cuddling machine?!  really?  no clue where that came from!!

-Blake loved answering these questions and didn't hesitate on any of them :)

Can't wait to hear what he has to say as a Kindergartner...well I can, b/c I don't want him to grow up...but you know what I mean :)

Summer snacking....

Blake and his cousin Addyson enjoying a Popsicle on a hot summer day.  What a mess...but oh so good!

 Blake and Addyson are only 4 months apart, so have been at the same level their whole lives.  They even go to the same school (daycare).  Blake just moved up to the Preschool room and Addy stayed in the Tike room.  I think that they are having a little separation anxiety.  I figure it's good for them to have a little independence though....and Addy will be a preschooler soon enough!!

Summertime hobby...

GOLF!

My girlfriends and I golf together about every other week...so fun to get out there with just the girls.  We are not very serious about it...but we are getting better every time!

Every other Wednesday (or so) Ryan get the kids from "school" and they are on their own for the evening so I can have me "me" time :)

I used to be on a more formal league...but this is just laid back and totally "just for fun."

We typically play a scramble...or lose track of the score by the end!! haha

It was a PERFECT evening for golf.

I LOVE this time of year.  It is still warm...but you can start to feel fall in the air.  The smell and sounds are different. 

And me  on the last hole of the evening.  This pic makes it look darker than it actually was.

There was a full moon rising and it was beautiful!!

Blake just recently "graduated" from the Tikes classroom and school and moved up to the preschool.  Whaaaaa....my baby is growing up.  That means one more year and then kindergarten!!  OMG.

He took donut holes for his classmates on his last day....boy was he proud!

Speaking of growing up....little miss Livi Kay looks about 1.5 going on 7 here.  Juice box, back pack....what's next, car keys?!!? :(

Blake loves this look.  hhahahaha.  Makes me giggle every time.  He says he looks like "papa" :).

 

Picking my sister up at the airport!  She was home from Denver for a week....gone now...and I miss her even more.  That's the bummer about her visiting...reminds us of how much we miss her :(.

Water babies

We sure have been enjoying the HOT summer.  Both kids LOVE to swim.  They have turned into quite the water babies this summer.  Livi has NO fear.  She will go under, prefers to be left alone to float (even when she can't touch) and jumps right off the boat.  Crazy girl.

She doesn't look happy here....but I bet she is :)

Blake is a bit more cautious that Liv (always has been)...but he is becoming a pretty good swimmer.  Each time he is a little braver, quicker, more independent. 

Hard to believe that it is almost August and that summer will be wrapping up!

I am sad...but I do LOVE fall!

Sweet summertime....

Livi Kay has a love/hate relationship with my parents dog, Maggie.  She really WANTS to like her...but she is afraid.  UNTIL Maggie gets tired and leaves Liv alone....then Liv starts to torment her!

 

Poor Livi needs a haircut....but I am not really sure what direction I should go with this one.  I want to keep her hair growing our so I can pull it back and put it up....but I fear if I cut the front but not the back she will have a mullet!!  Poor sweetie...she is just going to have to look like a rag-a-muffin for a bit longer I guess!!

Nana and Papa...

I snapped a few cute pictures of my parents and Blake the other night.  He is just growing up so fast and none of us can get enough of him!!  He is such a sweet, smart, spunky little boy.  I just love ho listen to him :)

I cannot for the life of me get these pictures to rotate....ugh.  I am giving up.

My peanut is growing up.

Within the last month or so Olivia has changed SO much. She has so much sas and such a little personality. She isn't a "baby" anymore (although she will always be my baby).

She is SO independent.
She knows exactly what she wants.
She wants to be around everyone, so social.
She wants to go pee-pee on the potty (although tells us too late).
She is starting to communicate so effectively. She lets you know what she has on her mind!
She LOVES her daddy.
She is obsessed with Dora and Minnie (that cracks me up that she is already partial to the "girly" stuff).
She is also obsessed with brushing her teeth. And painting her nails.

I just love to see this little beauty becoming a little girl :)

Summer Lovin

We had our first taste of really summer this Sunday! It was 80+, sunny, and we were at the lake! Ahhhh....

I am so looking forward to the summer. My kids LOVE being outside and I know that they are going to take to the water like little fishies this summer. Blake is getting so brave and Liv has always been fearless!!
