Oh what a difference....

a year makes!!

I was trying to upload some pictures to my August 2010 folder, so I glanced into my August 2009 folder...and it just blows me away what a difference a year has made for little Blake. He has come a LONG way in the past 12 months! Here is just a sample of the pictures that I found!

Blake and Ryan at my dad's race
Blake at the park watching a volleyball game!
Just starting to crawl!! Now we cant get him to stop RUNNING all over the house! Oh a year ago we just couldn't WAIT for him to start moving!!
At a baseball game!
Cruising around in a walker....
I cant wait to see how much he changes in the next 12 months...although I do think that he is pretty perfect right now and wish that I could keep him this way forever!

Oh what a difference....

a year makes.....

I went to my "May" folder to pull up some pictures...but I clicked on May 2009 instead of May 2010....I seriously cannot believe how much our little Blaker has changed in one year!!
And I remember thinking that he was such a "big boy" then!! Can't wait to see what changes the next year brings!!

Oh the difference a year makes....

We have been thinking about Easter this week...and that made me think about our last Easter. Blake was only 4 months old. Wow has he come a long way. He is such a little boy now..and not a baby at all. Kinda sad...but very fun at the same time.

Look at my sweeties on Easter last year...
And WHOA look at me...about 25 pounds heavier.
We had JUST started feeding Blake rice cereal. Now he eats anything that we give him!!
Look at that sweet sweet face. Oh I just love him.
This year Eater is going to be much different!! Blake has been "practicing" hunting for Easter Eggs all week. I got some of the plastic ones out and he loves to find them and carry them around....and then hide them in a new space. He is going to be sad when I put them back in the basement!
It is so beautiful outside today...hopefully it stays this way for the weekend!! My mom took Blake out for a little walk this morning...and then when I dropped him off at his daycare after lunch they were playing outside. How nice to get some fresh air!!

A walk in the park!

The snow has melted and the sun is out! We can finally enjoy a walk after work. We have been out every night this week. We have a park across from our house and Blake just loves the swing!
Ryan and I have been trying to walk first and then head to the park. Blake just can't wait to get on the swing.
We have to do our walking first, because Blake throws a mini fit when we take him out of the swing, so we have to head straight home then! What a stinker.
Here we are posing for the camera! Well I am, B is more interested in looking at himself in my shades!
I wish that you could hear him. He giggles the WHOLE time. It is the cutest sound in the entire world to me. It makes me laugh just listening to him.
Blake and daddy!! So cute.

The allergy meds don't seem to be making much of a difference for poor Blaker yet, but it has only been two days. He is still congested, however the cream that we are putting on his face has cleared up the redness...so that is good! One more day till the weekend!! Yay.

HELLO Spring!

We are so ready for spring in our household!! Blake has been loving being outside...I just can't wait until we don't have to get him completely bundled up before heading out! These pictures were taken a week or so ago, so the snow is gone now...thank goodness!!
He is a busy little dude. The minute that he gets outside he takes off! Almost running....hahaha.
It is crazy to us now, he seems like such a toddler and not a little baby anymore.
Here is Blake and grandpa off for a little stroll down the driveway!
We had a great weekend...but they always go so fast. Here we are at Monday morning again already. Oh well...
It is supposed to be up in the 50's this week so we are looking forward to getting outside for some more walks after work this week.
Blake has his 15 month checkup tomorrow morning...so I will be able to post his stats after that!

Lots of goodies

First off...I was pretty bummed to see Lilly go on Idol last night. I thought that she was good! There are a few gals in the top 12 that I could do without...Lilly should have stayed :(....

Little Blaker will be celebrating his 15 month birthday tomorrow! Since I hardly ever post on the weekends I will do his 15 months re-cap today!!

I cant believe our little peanut went from this....

to this....

It sure has been a fast 15 months! Seems like just yesterday we were anxiously awaiting his arrival!

NOW....

-he weighs 21 pounds, 4 oz.

-he wears a size 3 diaper

-12 month clothes fit the best, but some are getting too short!

-he still likes to use a bottle and isn't sure about the sippy cup.

-eating like a champ. tries new things all of the time and usually likes it all. Favorites right now are pancakes, cold cereal, goldfish, nilla wafers, green beans.

-sleeps from about 8 p.m. until 7 a.m.

-walks everywhere.

-loves to go outside and walk around

-really seems to be enjoying daycare. becoming much more social

-has a short attention span...always on the move, into everything (awesome..ha)

-not interested in TV anymore, still like books

-climbed out of his crib for the first time and fell out....NOT supposed to happen yet, what a little monkey! however, he hasn't tried again since. hopefully learned a lesson!

-has been really congested and/or running nose. maybe allergies?! we aren't sure yet. he has been on antibiotics 3x's and it doesn't seem to help. poor kid.

-he is just the center of our entire world. my heart bursts with the love that I have for him!!

AND...tormorrow we are celbrating St. Patty's day with all of our firneds. This is the day that Ryan adn I met....3 years ago. We have been together ever since :). What better way to clebrate our anniversary than with all of our friends, crrowded bars, and lots of green beer! How romantic :)

Self timer = FAIL

I tried to take a couple of pictures using the self timer. I wanted to include both Blake..and my new necklace. As you can see, it was a FAIL. Oh well. Maybe we will try again soon!

Blake sure did think that it was fun trying though :)

I am so pumped that it is Thuraday already. This week is flying by. We went to dinner with the family last night. Blake was a pistol the whole time...so I was a nervous wreck. He is home with my mom and sister today b/c his sitter had to take her baby to the doctor. I am heading home from work at 3:30 to hang out with them. We have a high of 60 today...so I am thinking about taking Blake to the park in the stroller. He loved the swing last summer...wondering what he will think about it this year!!

Sippy Cups...

Blake is going to be 15 months old this weekend. He should have the sippy cup mastered by now. But he just doesnt. He like drinking out of a straw, but just doesnt enjoy the sippy cup.
What should we do? This kid just still loves his "ba-ba." There was a few months there where he wasnt eating much at all, so I just let him have his bottle, because I wanted him to get his calories any way that he would.
He can get juice out of a tiny juice box straw with no problem...but it is too much of a mess. He just wants to squeeze the juice box.
He gives the sippy cup one try, doesnt get much...and just loses interest! I have invested a lot of money into trying different sippy cups..but we havent found the right one yet!
We still let him have a bottle when he is going to bed....I hope that we are not creating a monster! I hear all of these people saying that it is not right....but he is still a peanut...and he just loves it.
Maybe in another month or so we can just take it away and not look back....but we just arent ready yet!

Our Little Hoarder

Yep...I think that we have a little hoarder on our hands. (NOT that he would get that from his mama....I ONLY keep things that I NEED, and I ALWAYS put them right where I remember...k, maybe not...but anyways)

Here he is back in his playroom. Stuffing things away for safe keeping.
Don't mind the mess.
Stuffing something important way back where mama or daddy will never find it.
And here he is putting his ducky right on the basketball hoop....right where it belongs.
Yep, perfect.
And this balloon should be stored right here in this waste basket.
A pair of socks in the swing....
Nah...that's too obvious....off to put them somewhere a little more obscure.
This is Blake's favorite past time. Placing things where the DO NOT belong.
Hopefully it is just a phase!!

These 2 are TROUBLE!!

Blake LOVES dogs...my parents have a dog. A jack russle terrior named Jackie (original, I know). The two of them together are TROUBLE!! haha

Just look at them...I can tell that they are up to something....
Yep....the stairs. What's up there?!
Jackie is the first one up. I think that she is a bad influence.
Sure enough....if Jackie is going up, Blake is close behind her!!
Blake's new favorite trick is sneaking up stairs. I think that it is time for a gate!!

14 months!!

Blake turned 14 months old on Saturday, and I have yet to do my ‘14 month’ post….so here goes!

Blake has made HUGE progress in the past month. It is amazing how much he changes. You can just see his little brain working! It is great.
He is becoming much more independent. He pretty much walks everywhere. He follows us around the whole house and is in to EVERYTHING.

He was sick quite a bit this past month. Double ear infections and lots of congestion. He was on anti-biotics twice. He is still quite snotty….but we think that is a combination of daycare and winter. Poor kid.
He has quite the appetite now. He eats what we eat pretty much every night for dinner, so that is nice. For breakfast he eats toast, cereal, fruit, waffles, pretty much anything! He still likes to munch on the Gerber Graduate wagon wheels and puffs every once in awhile…but is moving towards all ‘adult’ food.

He still wears the size 3 diapers and weighs in at just over 21 pounds.

He still has 6 teeth. 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom.
Blake is still wearing size 12 Month clothes and size 18 month are just way too big right now.

He still hasn’t had a haircut, but his curly hair is getting LONG and CRAZY! We love it though.
Blake really knows how to get what he wants now and can throw a temper tantrum (YAY…not). He throws his body on the floor and will wail.

He sleeps each night from about 8:00 p.m. to about 6:30 a.m. Not bad I guess!! He has always been a pretty early riser.
Day care is much better now. He likes it at both paces, but the separation anxiety is starting to set in. He clings to me when I leave him. His teachers say that this is very common at his age….and that he is fine after I am out of site. I am sure that this is MUCH harder on me than it is on him!

Overall he is a PERFECT child and we feel so blessed that he is ours! He is the light of our life!!
