Not the paparazzi!!

I follow this boy around all day with the camera...and never get a good shot of him! He is too quick...and does NOT like to get his picture taken! I hope that he grows out of this phase....beacuse I sure do like to take pictures :)

I have NO good pictures of Olivis and Blake together...none....and she is almost 4 months old!! These are some of the last pictures with him with his long hair. We got it cute today! I will get some "after" pictures (if I can catch him)! I DO love those curls...but they had to go. They will be back in no time. His hair grows like crazy. This was his 4th haircut so far! AND....he is sleeping in his bed like a champ! He is so proud of himself for getting in and out by himself :)

We start swimming lessins tonight, so I am excited about that. He doesnt really get it, but I think that it will all come back to him when we get to the pool!

We've got a sleeper!!

Well...I think (hope) that it is safe to say that we have a sleeper!! Blake has ALWAYS been a good sleeper...and now he is in his big-boy bed. It has been three nights.

Night 1 = NOT so good.

Night 2 = still not good..but better.

Night 3 = SUCCESS!!

We put him down at 8, he got out of bed at about 8:45, we said, No, back to bed. Then we didn't hear from (or see) him until 7:30 when he woke and came out all by himself! I am so proud of him. I hope that I am not jinxing this situation by blogging about it already!!

Dont mind ALL of the stuff in his room...what a mess!

What a big boy!

Short night….

Or long night…..not quite sure how to categorize this one. Let’s just say, we didn’t get much sleep last night!!

We decided to make Blake’s bed into a toddler bed yesterday. Probably a very silly move on our behalf on a Sunday night. We should have done this on Friday. Oops! This isn’t the 1st time that we have tried this. When we moved Blake over to the big-boy room and made the nursery into Olivia’s room before she was born we made Blake’s crib into a toddler bed. He did OK the first few nights, but then decided that he wanted to sleep in Olivia’s crib. Probably a combination of it being his old room, and a crib. He was just much more comfortable there. We decided to convert his bed back into a crib…a new room AND a new bed was maybe too much all at once. Well, now he is used to his room, and a big boy…so we thought that this was a good time to go back to the toddler bed. This is how last night went:

7:40 Blake in bed and sleeping right away (Ryan and I though…awesome, this is too easy!)

8:30 Olivia in bed

10:00 Ryan and Annie in bed

11:30 Olivia up to eat

12:00 Blake whining in bed (rub his back and back to sleep)

12:30 Blake whining in bed (rub his back and back to sleep)

1:00 Blake whining in bed (rub his back and back to sleep)

2:00 Blake whining in bed (rub his back and back to sleep) (at this point I was JUST about ready to bring my pillow in his room and sleep on the floor)

2:30 Olivia up to eat

4:00 Blake, standing by my bed…”is Mouse on?”….”No Blake, it is too early for Micky Mouse”…waaaaaaa, waaaaaaaaaaa

4:20 Olivia up to eat

4:40 Ryan's alarm off

5:30 Blake FINALLY sleeping again

6:30 Annie's alarm off…snooze

6:45 Olivia up to eat

7:00 Get in shower….LATE

7:30 Blake up and out of bed by himself

8:30 out the door to daycare/work 30 minutes LATE

SOOOO….as you can see not much sleep. We are NOT going back to a crib for Blake, so hopefully this transition doesn’t last long. Olivia used to wake up just once at about 4:00 before her surgery. Now she is up every couple of hours. Since we are really trying to get her to put in weight, I can’t complain right now….but I am hoping that this is just a phase as well. This mama needs some sleep!!

I just got another sneak peek on facebook of Blake from our photo session with Sarrah @ Violets are Blue photography from last weekend!! I LOVE this face. What a doll baby!!
Blake slept in his big boy bed for the first time ever last night. I wasn't sure if I was ready for him to be out of a crib and into a toddler bed yet....but he wanted to try...and he did GREAT!! He went down when we tucked him in..and we didn't hear from him again until almost 8:00 this a.m. What a big boy!! I heard him moving around a bit this a.m., so I cracked his door, but didn't go in. About 10 minutes later he came walking out just like a big boy! I bet it felt strange for him to not have to call me to get him out of his crib!! I am sad that he is growing up....but happy that he is adjusting to being a "big boy" because we will have a new baby to fill his crib soon enough!! I am so proud of him :)

Nasty new habit....

Blake has started a nasty new habit....waking up at the CRACK of dawn! I know I should not complain, because we have been very spoiled in the sleep department...but let me tell you, I am NOT a morning person. Blake just may be turning into one! Ryan leaves for work at about 5:30, so mornings are just me and Blake. We used to sleep until about 7:15 or 7:30...this whole week he has been up at 6:00! UMMMMM, hello Blake...we still have an hour+ to sleep.
BUT, he is ready to GO. He wont lay back down. I show him that it is still dark and quiet and not time to get up...but he pitches a fit! He will just stand in his crib and yell "MAMA" until I come and get him out. And when we are leaving his room, he says "bye-bye night-night"...like is is ALL done with night time! UGHHHH!!

BUT, how could I be mad at an angel face like this?!!? He is just so sweet....although I would prefer not to see this face until after 7 a.m.!!

As you can tell...he is READY for the day....1st thing in the morning!! I wish mama had some of that early morning enthusiasm!

Up All Night!!

We had a pretty LONG weekend….with very little sleep! Blake was up all night on both Friday and Saturday nights. I am not sure what was happening. I do know that the poor kid was burning up…so he had a fever. We took him to the walk-in clinic on Saturday and he did have and ear infection, AND he is popping his molars through. Poor kid. He is on anti-biotics (again), so hopefully that will help. He did sleep through the night again last night…so hopefully we are turning a corner!!

We were at my parents house on Friday, so my poor mother was up all night with him…bless her heart!! Saturday we were home…

He is so stinking smart…giving him medicine is almost impossible. I have tried all of the tricks…but nothing works…and he holds the medicine in his mouth and then just spits it all out. I just pray that he is getting a little…and that it is enough to make a difference!!

Long, Snowy Day

I guess yesterday was a long day for the whole family. We woke up to all of this snow. This is what it looked like on the way from home to daycare....

You cant tell where the road stops or where the sidewalk is. They had to plow our drivewar twice yesterday just to keep up with the snowfall (and wind).

Ryan picked Blake up from daycare and his teacher said that he had an "awesome" day. His report card (daily report) was great. He is still pretty new there, so he had been fussy most days and nervous....but I think that it is really starting to get better. I know that he will LOVE it once he gets comfortable. They do so many fun things there.

Both daddy and baby were VERY tired after their long day. Ryan works like 11 hour days (6 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and Blake had a FULL day at 'school' with only 1 hour nap. They laid down the minute they walked in and rested.

Blake seriously fell asleep laying right here after about 3 minutes.

We woke him up, had some dinner, a bath, and he was out again! haha....LONG DAY :)

Sweet Boys...

Look at these sweet boys. Blake has been a really good sleeper and we can just lay him in his bed and he doesn't make a peep. Last night he peeped. I thought that we would just let him fuss it out. Ryan just cant stand it. He had to rush righ back there to snuggle him (so sweet).

Blake must have just needed a little extra loving because he was fast asleep in no time...

I think that Ryan was happy to hear from him. He used to rock him every night when he was a little baby. Now that Blake is a 'big boy' he doesnt get that extra snuggle time at night.
I think that Ryan wanted to stay like this all night...

I guess I cant blame him :)

HOWEVER at 3ish we hered from little Blake again. Not sure what the deal was last night...it took him about an hour to get back down. Poor kid (and poor mama and dada)...but he eventually fell back to sleep and woke up this a.m. feeling fine!

Sleepy baby....

We have been pretty blessed when it comes to Blake's sleeping patterns. He has been a pretty good sleeper his whole life. We pretty much have his routine down now. We can lay him down at about 8 and within minutes he is sleeping sound.
He sleeps through the night, and typically wakes up at about 7 a.m. well rested and ready for the day. Of course, he does have his nights when he just cant get a good rest...but don't we all??

This morning he woke up at about 6:30 a.m and he was MAD! I mean like screaming mad. I am not sure if he was having a bad dream or what. It seriously took me about 45 minutes to get him to calm down. Nothing would work. By the time that he calmed down I know that he was tired again, but he would not go back down. Poor kid. That is no way to wake up....but I feel his pain on a Monday morning! Sometimes I feel like I could cry too :)

I hope that this morning was no indication of how today is going to go for him at daycare. I hate to think about it :(

Cozy Saturday a.m.

Spent the morning making lots of this....yummmm
We have 2 parties tonight, so I am preparing some snacks to take....

I have been drinking LOTS of this...

I mean seriously...a LOT of coffee...

All while the babe does this.....

And all before 9 a.m. on a Saturday....WHAT has my life come to?!?!? haha

fyi....the babe usually does not nap this early (or at ALL)...but he was up a lot last night...don't know what is happening...and then up super early...so he is back in bed now. too bad it doesn't work like that for the rest of us. we are up with him...then up doing things while he catches up....i guess that is why we can have coffee...and he has milk :P
