CMU for the Win!!

This weekend I traveled to Iowa for work for the CMU vs. Iowa game.  I go because I am responsible for the pre-game tailgate party.  We invite our alumni from all of the surrounding states!

 

Iowa was just a 1 hour plane ride, so we rode the charter flight with the team.  We left on Friday and were back on Saturday...quick trip!

 

We went to Iowa with nothing to lose, and little hopes. We are a MAC team and Iowa is Big10.  We were a little out of our league...

 

BUT, to our excitement and Iowas surprise...we WON!  It was very exciting.  Right down to the wire!

I had the privilege of watching the game from the sidelines...so we were right next to all of the action!!

 

The stadium sure did clear out fast...I think that the Iowa fans were a little shocked!

Great win for CMU...and make for a fun trip for me!

1st day re-cap…

I THINK that Blake had a good 1st full day at daycare. His teacher and aides are going to think that our family is NUTS!! I dropped him off at about 8:15 and didn’t leave until 8:45. I wanted to make sure that he was OK, and I had some questions. At 11:45 Ryan stopped in on his lunch break…just to check on him. At about 1:45 my mom stopped in to make sure that he was ok…and then at 3:00 my sister stopped in! Seriously…that is NOT normal. My sister works in the same building and was there for a meeting so thought that she would just pop her head in. My mom is feeling a bit guilty after spending ALL of her time with him for the past year…and Ryan, well…he is just a very protective daddy!!

By the time that Ryan picked him up at about 4:45 the staff probably thought that we were whacko!! Haha….in everyone’s defense, no one knew the others were stopping in to check on him. At least the kid is loved!

After I got home from work my dad came over to check on him too…he said that he would have stopped in to daycare if he thought that he wouldn’t have gotten into trouble..ha…thank God he didn’t go on too!!

Blake only slept for 35 minutes while he was there, so he was pretty fussy last night.


I had to work a ‘GMAC Bowl watch party’ for the CMU Alumni…the game didn’t start until 7, so it was a long day for me. We won in 2OT, so it was a late night…but very exciting game!!

Awesome game for the Chips...started out slow...but them made up for it in the 4th quarter and OT!!

Pretty exciting season...12-2 overall....undefeated in teh MAC!

Not that I dont enjoy football and all..but i am glad that it is over...because I wont ahve to work as many nights and weekends...and the 2010 season will be here before we know it!!
