20 Months!!

I can’t believe that my baby is 20 months old now!! He is really becoming such a little boy…and not a baby at all anymore!!

What’s happening this month?!:

-I think that Blake weighs 26 or 27 pounds…not positive though!!
-Still in 18 months clothing and the shorts are still a little big around the waist. He is tall and lean.
-Talking more and more…putting a couple of words together, but not sentences yet. Says, “night night mama,” “bye bye dada,” etc. New favorite word is NO, and says it loud and clear!
(checking out the sheep at the fair)
-Getting so brave in the water! Loves to go swimming in the lake and run through the sprinkler. We tried the spray park for the first time this weekend and he was nervous at first, but really loved it after a bit.
-Gives real closed-mouth kisses now, with loud “muuuu-ahhhhhhhh” sound effects. I love it.
-Went to the movies for the first time (Toy Story 3) and sat through the whole thing like a good boy!!
-Still sleeping from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m…..I know we are lucky! He actually gets excited to go to bed…and asks us if it is “night night?” yet. Does a good job at nap time as well!
-Trying to get rid of the bottle all together….but he is too smart! I know that we are WAY behind on getting him off his “ba”…but we are trying. We are down to just giving it to him at bed time…but will need to go cold turkey soon. He doesn’t take it at all at daycare, so it’s our fault that he suckers us into it at home! (p.s. Ryan is a bigger sucker than I am when it comes to this)!
-Starting to get somewhat aggressive with cousin Addy. She likes to get very close to him and up in his face, and when he has had enough he gives her a shove…he is so strong that he can knock her over…

(with daddy at the fair)
-Which leads us to time out. We have started to use time out when he is being naughty. He actually responds to it quite well…and knows that it means that he is in trouble. He will sit in his chair until he is ready to be nice. I know that this is a phase, but I hate seeing him be aggressive!!
-Has an obsession with horses….ever since going to the fair. We let him rise the pony and now he thinks that he is a cowboy. Everything is neigh-this and neigh-that. At night it’s “night night neigh”…and when we leave its “bye bye neigh”…..so funny.
-Leaving him at daycare is no big deal at all. He could care less than I am leaving and just says “bye mama”

(running through the sprinkler...with a huge audience in the background...this poor kid doesnt get enough attention)
Overall, Blake continues to be SUCH a great boy and a joy to have. I just cant imagine our lives without him!! We love him so much!

Gender Reveal Party Details….

I guess we really didn’t take any pictures of the gender reveal this past Sunday….but I will write about it anyway!!

We had pink and blue ribbon pins and everyone had to pick what they thought it would be…pink or blue. My mom and dad both picked pink. Ryan’s mom and dad both picked blue. Ryan’s sister and brother both picked pink as well. I think that the only one that actually thought that it was going to be a girl was my dad…the rest that chose pink were just hoping!!

We wrapped a “it’s a girl” mylar balloon in a big box surrounded by pink tissue paper and confetti. We let Blake open the present and out floated our “it’s a girl” message!! Just about everyone got a little teary eyed…..it was fun to reveal our exciting news to everyone at once!!

Other than that we just enjoyed some food on the grill, as well as the nice weather. We took a boat ride and went swimming!!
my mom got this Ice Cream Cake from DQ!

It’s My Birthday!!

….and it’s a big one!!
the big 3-0!! That used to see so old, but now that I am here, it doesn’t seem so bad. I think that is because I haven’t everything that I have ever wanted at the age of 30!....a great husband, a son, a daughter on the way, a house, a good job, lots of friends, and an awesome family! I am a pretty lucky girl!!
I went to lunch with my mom and Blake today, dinner with my parents, Ryan and Blake tonight. Tomorrow night I am having dinner with friends....Thurday Ryan is taking me out to the movies....it's a week full of celebration!!

Gender Reveal

We had a gender reveal party yesterday for our families….although it wasn’t much of a party….ha, just our immediate family (minus my sis b/c she is in CO). The whole plan of us trying to keep a secret didn’t last long. We had the U/S back on July 29h. The nurse wrote the sex in an envelope and sealed it up. I was still contemplating keeping it a surprise the whole time…WELL, that lasted about 1 hour! We went to lunch and talked about the pro’s and con’s of knowing vs. not knowing. Poor Ryan was like a 5 year old on Christmas morning….he just could NOT wait!

SO….when we got home I told him that he could open it. I wanted him to do it so I could watch the reaction on his face. He opened it, was stone solid, put the paper back in, opened it again…and just handed it to me….so I STILL had NO CLUE.

I opened it to read….

“It’s a Girl!”
You could have blown me over with a feather. I was pretty convinced it was a boy…so I was SUPER surprised and excited to read girl!!

We then waited about a week and a half before telling anyone else. It was hard, but wanted to tell our families first….and now we did…the word it out and we are THRILLED to be having a girl to add to our family!
I do have some pictures from yesterday...and I will type up some details of the gender reveal to post later this week. Of course our families are both very excited and anxiously anticipating a new baby girl :)

Blake is now saying "sissy" and it is music to my ears!! He has quite the lisp going on when he says it...and it is just so darn cute!! He is going to be such a good big brother.

Wedding Wednesday...more Men

And the wedding pictures roll on for yet another week. This week is a continuation from last weeks pics and the men in our wedding. Ryan had 6 groomsmen and 3 ushers.

This is Ry with Sawyer. Sawyer is one of Ryan roomies from college. Again, Ryan looks super small, but Sawyer is actually super big. He lived with football players in college. Sawyer lives and works in Dubai now, so we don't get to see him much. He flew back to be in our wedding...and will be back again this weekend for the wedding that Ryan is in. We are excited to see him. He is a funny guy and one of Ryan's best friends!
This is Joel. Ryan and Joel have been friends since grade school and graduated high school together. Joel is the sweetest guy ever. Ry and Joel now work at the same place! Ry works as a Quality Supervisor and Joel is an Engineer!
Chad was and Usher. Chad and Ry have been friends their whole lives...everyone calls him O-fer, so it is funny to type Chad. Ryan and ALL of his friends have nicknames. No one goes by their real name. Its pretty strange. The nicknames stick with them for their entire lives. Ryan's is Tito (long story).....and when we first started dating and I would refer to him as Ryan, his friends would look at me like I was nuts! haha
This is Tony. Tony was actually my friend before I even met Ryan, but now he is a close bud of both of ours. Tony and I met when we worked at a golf course (Bucks Run) in college and were immediate friends!! He moved away after college, but is back home now. He threatens to move away again...but I don't believe it!
Here's the whole group...what a bunch of handsome guys :)
