Seriously, Mother Nature?!

This has got to be a joke, right?!  We have been having the craziest weather in Michigan.  It has been raining buckets (literally) for 2 weeks, and this morning we woke up to SNOW?!  This is just after a 65 degree sunny day that we had yesterday.

We have been under Flood Advisory Warnings for weeks.  Co-workers and friends have flooded basements.  Luckily we have not.  But this is NUTS.

Blake was beyond excited and said "ITS WINTER" when he woke up this morning, followed by a "I CANT WAIT TO PLAY OUTSIDE IN THE SNOW AFTER SCHOOL TODAY"....poor thing, he doesn't realize that it will be gone by then.

I will admit that my views from my room were pretty this morning....but I would have enjoyed them in December, NOT on April 24th!!

Seriously, people?!

These pictures make me giggle...because it looks like Livi is just so disgusted!

 

Her "school" has a web-site and her teachers post pictures of them throughout the day/week.  I love that they do that.  Typically Liv looks like she is having a blast and I know that she just loves it at school.  She is very social.

Winter fun

This is our first full winter in our new home...and the home has an added bonus....a sledding hill right in the back yard!!  These pictures were taken in November after the 1st snowfall.  We since have gotten a better base for sledding!!

Winter Wonderland

We finally got our first big snow of the winter! It looks so beautiful here this morning. I haven't taken pics yet, because I am working today. Blake is chomping at the bit to get out and build a snowman! I am posting a few pictures of Blake and Ryan playing in the snow last year at this time.....my has Blake grown in a year! He looks like a baby in these pictures. Can't wait to get out there and play with him this winter :)

Snow day!!

Yes, you heard that right…we had a snow day….yesterday, March 23rd….4th day of Spring….snow day! All of our snow had melted and we had a brief taste of spring, and then bam, winter is back in full force! The snow started to fall at about 3:00pm on Tuesday and never stopped until about 3:00 pm on Wednesday. I was *hoping* for a snow day…but did not think that I would actually get one. The university has already had 3 this year, which is way more than usual. They hardly ever call for a snow day since most students live on campus. When I woke up with Olivia at 4am to feed her I check, just in case. No such luck. All of the local schools were cancelled, but not CMU. We went back to bed. When I woke up again at 6:30 I thought that I would check again on the slight chance that they had since made the call…SCORE! No work! I was so excited that I couldn’t go back to sleep :)….I felt like a kid on Christmas.

It was SO nice to have a day off without a sick kid…or tons of plans. We stayed in our jammies all day and never left the house. I let Blake rock this awesome bed head. All day long. :)

And I got this done....not that you need to see it....but this is just 4 of the 6 loads of laundry (mostly Ryan's...b/c he changes 3 times per day) that I did. It builds up so fast...but it was nice to get it all done in one day!

Welcome to Spring-time in Michigan!

Snow Day!!

Well.....we're snowed in! The whole town is pretty much shut down. Ryan's work is closed, mine is closed (if I was even working right now), city offices are closed, banks are closed, no trash pick up, etc. It started snowing last night and has just now slowed down a bit. I think that we have gotten about 10+ inches to add to our 10 inch base. It looks so pretty....but we haven't ventured outside to see what it feels like!
