OK, honestly I do have a pretty kick-a job, and I have no room to complain. I graduated from college with a degree in Commercial Recreation and Marketing. I went on to finish my Masters in General Admin. Right after graduation I worked for Special Olympics Michigan for 2 years. I LOVED that job and felt SO good about what I was doing. However, there were some major burnout issues. I felt as if I could work forever, and there was still work to be done. AND, lets be realistic, the money in non-profits is not very good. If money wasn't an issue, I may have stayed there longer.
NOW I work in Alumni Relations as my alma mater as an event planner. This is a GREAT job. I LOVE planning events...and I have a very flexible schedule.
SO..I will say that it is a Dream Job, however I would make a few changes.
1.) EVENT PLANNER (with a few changes from my current position)...I would not have to deal with budget, I would have an unlimited amount of money to spend, I would have an assistant, I wouldn't have to fret about guest lists and making sure that I had enough people at my events!
and...
2.) STAY AT HOME MOM...I do get very envious of all mama's that get to stay home with their pumpkins and play all day. BUT, I don't really know if I could do it. And...I guess it wouldn't be playing all day. OK, if I was a SAHM in a perfect world, I would also have a housekeeper, chef, shopper, etc.

Love this! It would be nice to have a chef and housekeeper on top of being a SAHM...sounds pretty nice!
SAHM is on my list as well. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to have children at one point.

You are so funny! Your real job does sound like a blast! Being a SAHM does have many perks....but there are a few days I would like to be working! :)

Ok we have got to be like the same person. My two dream jobs are to be an event planner (except I don't know how to get into it) and a stay at home mom. Whew. If only...

Your job sounds exciting :). I don't know if I could be a stay-at-home-mommy either (if I had a child). I don't think I could be cooped up everyday.

Event planning would be really fun!! Although, there are some drawbacks to it as you stated.
SAHM would be wonderful, and you'd be great!! To me, I think being a SAHM is harder than anyjob!! It'd def be harder thna my job, I know that!
