Olivia is 2 weeks old today!

Olivia Kay is 2 weeks old today! She has changed So much in just two weeks. She is really filling out and staring to make some funny facial expressions!

She still sleeps a lot, but is awake a little more each day. She is also sleeping better at night. She eats at 11...sleeps til 4...sleeps again until 7 and then goes back to sleep again! She is sleeping in her little baby vibrating chair. I think that the bassinet is still a bit big and overwhelming for her.

She likes to be swaddled up...but we are starting to spend more time on the floor "working out"...

Her newborn clothes are still big...but getting better.

We have had lots of company and visitors, so it has been fun showing her off!!

Blake is still doing great. He pretty much pays no attention to her at all...but is starting to talk and ask about her more and more. He has no aggression or jealousy issues...so we are very lucky there!
Life with 2 kids has been great! (well...so far anyway :))

Olivia's hospital pictures...

Here is a link to Olivia's pictures taken at the hospital. They are not great pictures....but she sure is a beautiful little baby girl!!
I am happy to see that she is the only Olivia born at our hospital this month! I worried a bit that Olivia is a popular name right now and thought twice about naming her that...but I just love it. I am glad that we stuck with it :)

Olivia Kay is 1 week old!

Olivia Kay is one week old today! This first week with her here has been really great. She is such a good baby! We had her 1st well visit yesterday with the pediatrician. She did great and looks as healthy as can be. Doctor said that she is growing well and that she loves her beautiful "pink color"..ha!

+She now weighs in at 6 lbs 12 oz. (10-25th percentile)
+She is 20 inches long (75th percentile) (I THOUGHT that the 22 that they had originally said seemed quite long). The nurse at the doc office said that it was often hard to get an accurate read in the delivery room...so she is actually much closer to 20 inches!...still long but not as long as we were originally informed).
+Her head measures at 14 inches (75th percentile).
+She is a really good eater. I am breast feeding as much as possible...and then when she needs more I have to supplement with formula. She switches between the two with no issues at all.
+She sleeps pretty good at night...but she would prefer to be held by me while she sleeps. If I let her sleep on my chest she will sleep like a log. When I put her down she sleeps for awhile, but then fusses to be picked up.
+She goes about 3 hours in between feedings and sleeps pretty much the rest of the time!

Blake is still doing really great. I think that it is harder on Ryan and I than him...we just get sad every once in awhile when we think that he isn't our baby anymore...and he seems so big and old! He is at school today. My dad came and picked him up so that I didn't have to pack up Livi and take her out in the snow to get there. (Ryan goes to work at 6a.m., so he can't take him). I was a little worried about Blake getting confused or sad if Papa was taking him and dropping him off...but I talked to my dad and he said that Blake did great. No issues at all..and he was proud to show off his Papa to his friends :)

5 days old!!

Here are a few pictures from the hospital taken on the day Olivia was born!
Sweet little peanut...
Disregard my bed-head...it had baan a pretty long day by this point :)
When we brought her home she weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. We take her back to the doctor tomorrow so I will be anxious to see if she has gained any weight back. She is a good eater, so I bet so!
She is sleeping from 2-3 hours a night at a time...she just wakes up to eat and then is right back to sleep..so it isn't bad.

Blake is still doing GREAT. He is such a sweet boy and we have not had any issues with him adjusting. He is really concerned about his baby sissy and when she cries, he says "baby's sad mama"...

My baby is 2!!

My baby is 2!! Wow did that go fast. My life has been SO much better since he has been born. I don't know what I did before having him!
He went from this....(on the way home from the hospital)
to THIS in a blink of an eye!
* Blake is SO smart, funny, loving, and full of energy. I cant wait to see what the next 2 years hold. He changes so fast and I love every stage just as much as the one before.
*His vocabulary is blowing up and he can say just about anything that comes to his mind!
*He is still a great sleeper and asks us to put him in bed each nights
*He is still wearing a size 18 mo. and some of it is a little big
*His appetite is good....loves hamburgers and fries w/ "dip"
*He enjoys going to "school" and his teaches say that he is just great when he is there
*He loves to watch "Pets" (Wonder Pets) and "yadigans" (Backyardigans)
*He is obsessed with Toy Story and anything to do with Woody or Buzz

He weighs 26.5 pounds (just under 50th percentile)
He is 34.5 inches tall (50th percentile)
and has a head circumference of 19 inches (50th percentile)

He is just perfect and I love him SO much!

Birthday Weekend fun!

We have had a fun weekend celebrating Blake's 2nd birthday. He actually turns 2 tomorrow, but we had a party on Friday night. He was somewhat overstimulated with ALL of the attention and gifts. He got fixated on the very first gift that he opened (a talking Woody doll) and then had a hard time moving past that and on to the other gifts!! I have pictures from the party that I will post soon.
Blake's Aunt Arlee and Uncle Josh got him the battery powered 4 wheeler. He was a little leery at first, but we took it outside yesterday and he really got the hang of it. It goes 2 miles/hour and Blake keeps it a full speed the whole time :)
I am making mini cupcakes now to take to his school tomorrow so he can celebrate there with his friends!
Still no baby. I am feeling lots of pressure and some contractions, but nothing regular enough to cause alarm. Looks like she may be waiting for the induction on Wednesday to make her big appearance. That's ok with us...only a couple more days to wait now :)

Week 38

DATE: December 9, 2010
How far along: 38 weeks
Total Weight Gained: 40 pounds…..Yep….still gaining. I keep reading that by this time the gaining will slow down. Not so much here!

How big is baby? Baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long. She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

Maternity Clothes: yep!

Sleep: Still not good this week. Have been pretty darn uncomfortable!! I figure its practice for the night-time feedings again.

Best Moment of the Week: Getting a FINAL timeline. If I don’t go into labor by next Wednesday, the 15th, I will be induced that morning! 6 more days MAX!

Movement: oh yes….always! More shifting now…and more pressure down low (vs. up top).

Food Craving: just everything! ha

Food Aversions: none

Morning Sickness: none

Gender: GIRL!! Still nameless!

Symptoms: heartburn, difficulty sleeping, contractions…but not regular, pressure, sore hips

What I miss: sleeping…I am really tired this week!

What I'm looking forward to: seeing and holding my baby girl!! I am READY.

Dicken's Christmas Parade

Our downtown has an annual Dicken's Christmas Festival with a lighten Christmas Parade. On Saturday night we bundled up and headed downtown for the festivities. It was COLD, but we had a good time. Blake REALLY enjoyed the parade, lights, and noise. It was so fun to watch his little face light up as the parade passed by. He waved the whole time. I didn't get many good pictures...but I snapped a few....here they are:

We saw Santa from a distance, but didn't wait in line to sit on his lap. I really don't think that Blake will be into it this year. He is really shy around strangers, so I can just imagine what he would think about sitting on a strange old mans lap! ha....maybe we will try next year :)
