Olivia’s ENT Appt.

We went to Midland (abt. 45 minute drive) today for Olivia’s ENT appt. We have been waiting for this appointment for 6 weeks. This was a referral from out pediatrician in regards to Livi’s laryngotracheomalacia. We got there….waited about 40 minute sin the waiting room….got into the exam room…and the ENT said, oh…wish I would have known how little she was…there is nothing that I can do here. SOOOOOOOO….all of that wait, and still no answers. He referred us down to the U of M Children’s Hospital. We have an appt. there with a specialist next Wednesday morning. That will be a major trip. The office is about 2.5 hours away from out house. Appt. is at 8:30…so we will be leaving before 6 a.m. for that one! I am hopeful that we will get some answers then.

This has been a pretty long drawn out process…but I am thankful that Olivia doesn’t seem to be bothered at all. I THINK that they will just confirm the diagnosis and we will wait for her to grow out of it. BUT, you never know….keep your fingers crossed for us!

She continues to be a perfect angel. Such a happy, content baby girl!

Not really having it....

I tried to take a few pictures of my sweet little Livi on Wednesday when she turned 10 weeks old...but she wasn't really in the mood I guess. She is typically SO smiley and sweet all of the time....but I just didn't capture that here!!

She is still just as sweet as can be...and such a peanut. I put her in a 0-3 month outfit (as opposed to newborn) but is was just a wee bit big still!!

She is obsessed with her tongue and sticks it out a lot. She is making lots of sounds...I think that she is going to be a talker!
She is thinking that I am crazy...'enough already mama!!'

Yep....that's it...so much for our photo shoot!!

Wedding Wednesday - Receptoin

I haven’t posted any wedding pictures in months and months…but I just got looking at them. We have been married for nearly a year and a half, but I still like to look at the pictures…and I have TONS of them!

Today I am posting a few from the reception. We had about 275 people for a fun night of dinner and dancing. Ryan and I have lots of crazy friends…so needless to say it was a fun night!

Ryan made quite the scene out of getting the garter…which was funny mostly because it is out of character for Ryan. He is usually pretty shy and reserved…so to have all eyes on him and have him making a big scene was funny!

Apparently his shirt had to be untucked for the big toss?!?!

oh well....he's still cute :)

What a great day. I wish I could go back and do it all again….OF COURSE I would marry the same guy :)

The many faces of Blake

Sure is hard getting a picture of this kid these days! He wont stand still long enough for me to focus. I figured that maye I could get him last night while he was in the bathtub, sicne he was pretty much contained to one place. I was wrong ;)...no smiles from Blake!

Snow, Snow, Snow

We got a little tease of spring at the end of last week...and then BAM, it's gone! We have gotten about 10 inches of snow in less than 24 hours...and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down for awhile.

I had today off of work...so of course campus was closed until noon! Of course I would have to use 8 hours of vacation time for a 4 hours day! BOO.....oh well. As of yesterday morning just about all of the snow in our yard was melted...now we are covered again. I guess it was too good to be true for February anyway.

We had Olivia's pictures taken back at the beginning of February. She was 7.5 weeks old when these were taken. What a peanut....

So serious here...but still SOO cute!
So glad to have a girl to dress up :)...lets hope that she likes pink!

Cool Dude...

If wearing hats is "cool"...Blake is the coolest kid around...because he wears 3 AT A TIME!! This is his new thing, and he gets such a kick out of himself. He will walk around all evening wearing multiple hats. A bit ago, I couldn't get him to put on a SINGLE hat...so not sure what the new obsession is. Ryan and I sure get a kick out of him! Hopefully by summer he is still on this kick and will wear ONE when we are playing outside :)

Olivia Kay is 2 Months Old!!

I can’t believe that our Livi is 2 months old already! She is such a good baby and so happy.

*Her 2 month well-visit isn’t until March 1st, but I am guessing that she weighs close to 9 pounds or so? She is getting longer, but is still so slim!

*She is wearing her newborn clothing still…but onsies are getting too short!

*She is in newborn diapers, but next time we will switch to size 1

*She eats about 2 oz. every 3-4 hours during the daytime. At night she will sleep for about 5 hours the first time, and then 2-3 after that. Last night she went down at 9:30, woke at 3:30…5:30…and 7:45. She is quick to eat and then goes right back to bed!

*She is still sleeping in the bassinette in our room.

*Her hair is getting a bit lighter, but is still darker than Blake’s ever was. Her eyes are very dark blue.

*She is SO alert and looks all around. She loves to lay under her play gym and is just mesmerized by the lights and toys.

*She smiles all of the time. Has the cutest smile and her eyes light up when she smiles :)

*Still breathing very heavy and loud…goes to an ENT on Feb 28th for her laryngotracheomalacia. We are getting more used to the sound…but it still kills us to hear her labored breathing. Luckily it doesn’t seem to bother her!

*Other than that she has been very healthy…knock on wood!
We are SO lucky to have such a beautiful baby girl! We love her so much.

Blake is 26 months!!

Not sure when I will quit saying his age in months…now that he is two, I should probably stop! BUT, for my sake I am going to try to post monthy so I can remember what he was doing at each age.

Yesterday Blake turned 26 months old. Seems like he JUST turned 2, the past 2 months have flown by!

He weighs between 27 and 28 pounds.

He wears a size 18-month pant and 24 month shirt. He is still very slim!

He is in a size 6 shoe.

He needs a haircut…but we are going to try to grow it out for a bit and see how that looks!

He is still in a size 4 diaper. We talk about potty training, but haven’t really given it much effort yet. We bought a potty chair, and have sat on it a few times, but he hasn’t gone in it. He knows when he goes…but usually tells us after the fact, not before. His pediatrician advised us to wait until this summer to train, when he is 2 ½.

I just sent him off to “school” this morning sporting a nice red sweater for Valentine’s Day. He is having a party in his class today. He took Toy Story Valentines for his classmates.

His vocabulary is getting bigger and bigger. He talks in full sentences a lot…sometimes even more. When I picked him up at “school” one day last week he said…”Mama, see that paper in there?” pointing to his cubby…”I colored it”…

He knows all of his colors, shapes, and now emotions too. You can ask him to see any of the following faces and he knows what to do “happy, sad, tired, shy, scared, crying, excited, and loving.” We made up the “loving face” but he does this cute little cuddle face that we just love…

Cant believe how fast my boy is growing!!

Cartoon Junkie...

I probably shouldn't admit this for the whole world to see....but my Blake LOVES tv. I wouldn't call him a couch potato...because he is very active when he is watching TV, but he gets SO excited to watch his shows!! I know that we are supposed to limit him to an hour or less a day...but lets be honest, sometimes turning on the TV is the only option!

Shows he LOVES right now: Diego, Dora, Little Bear, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets
Movies he can't get enough of: Shrek (original and the Final Chapter/#4)

It is so funny to watch him when he is watching TV, because he acts it out the whole time. He will do whatever they are doing on TV and just laugh and laugh. When we watched Shrek, he has to hold his little Shrek doll the whole time and mimic the TV. He memorizes what they are saying and talks along with it too!

At least the Nick Jr. and Disney Playhouse shows are all educational...makes me feel a little bit better about letting him have too much "TV time"...

We'll be sleeping good tonight!

Ryan and I bought a new bed last week and it finally got delivered today!! We have needed one for awhile now, so this is long overdue!! We went from a Queen to a King, so the headboard and footboard that go with our bedroom set no longer works...we are going to wait on that for a bit until we decide what we really want...so for now it looks a little silly. OH WELL...at least we will be comfortable! Our old mattress was really soft and we wanted a firmer one. Ryan is excited about the firmness...I think that I am happier about the King size! He is a bed hog! I am so excited to sleep :)
Speaking of beds...I never posted pics of Livi's room....Here is it. The pictures are bad because of the lighting, but you can get the idea. We used Blake's old crib and changing table, but just added some PINK!

I still have some work to do...but it is cute for now. I am going to add some more things on the walls...

She hasn't actually slept a night in here yet. She is still in her bassinet in our room...but she lays in here for some naps and just to hang out at times during the day! I think that she likes it :)

Just one of those days...

Today has been a longggg day. My nights are usually semi-short right now with Olivia waking up to eat...and I can deal with that, but last night was VERY short. Olivia went down at 10:30 and slept until 3:30, so that was good. I was feeding her quickly with plans of crawling right
back in bed. Wrong!! I hear Blake back in his room saying "mama, mama, mama, mama" over and over and over...he usually sleeps through the night no problem. So, I snuck my head in there and he was wide awake. I rocked him back to sleep and crawled back in bed at 4:15...he never really went back to sleep. Ryan got up at 4:45 to get ready for work and Blake was still up, so he got him out of bed and brought him out to watch TV....well, the rest is history! SO, I have been up since 3:30!! We kept Blake home from school. I don't really think that he is sick....but I was worried about sending him off to school so tired.

He was in a good mood all morning, but has fought a nap all day! He is being clingy and jealous when I hold Olivia. He NEVER acts like that, so I think that he is just overly tired!

I really have no room to complain, since I am still of on maternity leave...and my mom came over and let me take a 2 hour nap! I know some mom's have these issues EVERY night, but I have been spoiled :)

I am crossing my fingers for a good night's sleep for ALL of us tonight!!

How could I be mad at this little cowboy?!
